Lots of things sound (or look) unappealing, but as they say, "don't knock it till you've tried it!" You don't HAVE to go to all that effort to enjoy conch, as it is available at most restaurants at a reasonable price. When we were there, we ate it as much as possible, but didn't attempt to prepare it ourselves.
